Sunday Local Activities

The organizing committee has sourced a few options for Sunday events. Pricing will be determined based on the number of attendees who wish to participate. These tours will only happen if the minimum number of people register.  Due to the variable cost based on participation, we are gathering interest only (no commitment or payment is required at this time).   If we receive the minimum number of interest by July 31st, the tour will be confirmed and registration will be required at that time.  Make sure your name is on the list and vote for your favourite at 2024 Sunday Events

The town of Lake Louise is nestled in the Canadian Rockies, just 45 minutes east of Banff. Breathtaking mountain scenery and fluffy snow lure skiers and snowboarders to the slopes of the world-class Lake Louise Ski Resort every winter, while in summer this picturesque hamlet overflows with nature lovers eager to explore unforgettable hiking trails and rock-climbing faces. A short drive from downtown is Lake Louise itself, which thrills visitors every summer with its vibrant turquoise waters.

Next, we drive through the scenic town of Canmore, past the Banff Park Gates, and to our first stop at Lake Louise. Lake Louise, located within Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies is known for its turquoise, glacier-fed lake ringed by high peaks. We will see the famous picturesque lake and the Chateau that overlooks the lake.

Here we will enjoy High Tea at the Chateau Lake Louise. Nibble on warm scones topped with strawberry jam and Devonshire cream, savor delicate finger sandwiches with a range of fillings, and indulge in sumptuous, sweet treats from macarons to chocolate cake. You will have some time to enjoy a walk around the lakeshore before we head to Moraine Lake for a picturesque stop and transfer back to hotel.

This morning you will be picked up and do a quick drive tour of Calgary to learn about the history, art, and culture that defines the city. You will see the Stampede Grounds and the Communities of Eau Claire and Kensington before you drive west past the Olympic Park towards the foothills.

Banff is at the center of Canada’s very first National Park, nestled high in the Canadian Rockies. Once “Siding 29” on the Canadian Pacific Railway, the town was intended to be a tourist town from its very inception. The park’s first superintendent, George Stewart, even oriented the town’s first street so that it offered the best possible view of Cascade Mountain. With easy access to pristine wilderness, outdoor adventures, jaw-dropping landscapes, and vibrant history, there are many places to visit in Banff.

The town site of Banff is at an elevation of 1,383 meters (4,537 feet), making it the highest town in Canada. Banff is flanked on all sides by towering mountains, including Mount Rundle, Sulphur Mountain, Mount Norquay, and Cascade Mountain. The lively streets of downtown are lined with top-class restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as a vibrant range of art galleries and museums.

Upon arrival, there will be a tour of the town of Banff including Bow Falls, Cascade Garden, Hoodoos, Tunnel Mountain, Surprise Corner, the Trading post, the Cave & Basin, and the famous Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. Next, you will get to experience the Banff Gondola as you sit back and relax and marvel at the unsurpassed view of Banff, the Bow Valley, and a 360-degree view of six scenic mountain ranges from 2,281m (7,486 ft) above sea level. Lunch will be arranged at the top for a lifetime experience of dining high in the Canadian Rockies. Some free time to explore on your own then transfer back to Hotel.
